AHHHHHHH WE DID IT!
Well, I made it out alive during my 15 unit semester of my animation undergraduate program. YOU made it through all the 2021 pages of The Monster At My Door! (A far more relaxing feat lol)
Truthfully, I don't actually want to go on hiatus. Now that I'm done with all my art projects for school, and we've gotten new readers on board this last week, literally all I want to do is to deliver the next pages as quickly as possible. But the only way I can commit to actually finishing scenes is if I'm on a strict production schedule, and the schedule I follow can't really be put in place until after the holidays (when I sketched out this year, I didn't expect to hit my comic buffer at the end of the semester but lol of course I did because I had 3 STUDIO CLASSES).
As much as I hate having to pause the adventure for y'all just as people have started to get sucked in, I really wanted to make sure any break I took would come with a pretty natural spot for a "to be continued". And since the second half of Chapter 3 introduces new points of conflict, it just feels better to pause here and pick up with the new normal later.
With that being said, my goal is to return to updating at the beginning of February. It will really depend on how quickly my body recovers from this semester. I'm supposed to graduate next semester so it's gonna require some major planning to create a production schedule that is healthy and effective. Final sketches are *mostly* done for the rest of this chapter and chapter 4, and I'm really excited to share all the new dynamics that are coming your way, but I just want to make sure I can tell the story without rude interruptions from my chaotic life lol.
So anyway, thank you all so much reading and your continued support! 2021 has still be an existentially horrific year, and it's been very difficult for me, but making this comic and getting to share it with you has been the best thing to come out of it! This is genuinely the first time in a long time that I've had fun making art, so I hope you've had fun reading and are looking forward to where this story takes us next!
If you love this comic and are looking for ways to support it, you can pick anything from this list (or multiple things...go crazy):
Come back and re-read it :)
Share it with your friends and family! (Okay, maybe only your weird family idk...)
Subscribe on Tapas! (it's free, and just another way of reading the comic. If you like scrolling on your phone, getting notifications, and need an easy way to pick up where you left off, it's a neat website to read comics. Leaving likes on the "episodes" is also super nice too)
Send me a tip on kofi! (for as little as $3, we can start to reimburse Frank for all those organs Leo ate)
Follow my art accounts! (If you're not following me on both twitter and instagram you're missing out on some of the behind the scenes magic of this comic...and also my cute self-indulgent Pleasant Oaks OC art)
Before I launched this comic I used to post my WIP stuff all the time so you might want to start stalking me on social media idk idk
